crimson skies
the dusk of summer light
drifts into beauty
of the coldness in white
as the scent of smoke
from the fireplace
replaces the warmth of nature
between the midnight sun
that never sleeps
and the midday moonbeam
that seeks the light
there’s stillness
that holds the old tune
where we embrace
the laughter from afar
of those whose seats
have been left behind
quietness
the eyes look
for a familiar face
through the black
and white pictures
framed on the broken
white wallpaper
teary eyes
bitter smile
tick tock
noise of the clock
from behind
though the percussion
of the dusty piano fades
the eternal memory
of dinner talk
will be sealed forever
in every room
